Angel Fraser-Logan
Angel Fraser-LoganArtistic Director
Angel has been dancing for the past 32 years. She was trained in Lyrical, jazz, ballet, Tap, modern, Acro & hip Hop. Her many honors and achievements as a dancer include the Miami Movement Dance Company from 1988 to 1991. Also in 1988 she was a finalist on the ever-popular Star Search hosted by Ed McMan. In 1989 she became the Junior National Dance Champion in the U.S. and in 1990 was featured in many acclaimed TV commercials based on her national titles, including becoming the “McArthur Milk Child”. She also appeared in advertisements in the Miami Herald as well as other print media. She began to guest perform for personalities such as Philip Michael Thomas, Don Johnson and former Senator Bob Graham. Tawanna Hall-Charlton
Tawanna Hall-CharltonDance Instructor
Tawanna Hall-Charlton is the most sought after, highly regarded choreographer and master teacher in South Florida today. Her fresh physical style, yet smooth energetic moves have been used by some of the most talented dancers and hottest dance studios world-wide. Born and raised in South Florida, Tawanna began her formal dance training at the age of 14. When she was 16 she was accepted into the world renowned New World School of the Arts, where she became a student of discipline. Soon after she decided to follow her genuine love and passion for teaching dance and after graduation embarked into the wonderful world of “physical freedom” choreographed at Joe Michaels Dance Center with their Artistic Director, Mia Michaels. Liana Navarro
Liana NavarroDance Instructor
Liana Navarro began her classical ballet training at the age of seven. In 1975, Ms. Navarro started her teaching career in classical ballet at several academic schools in the Miami area. By 1976, she had founded the Liana Ballet Studio. As Director of this studio for ten years and Co-Director of Le Atelier de Ballet with the late Julio Lamas, Liana has dedicated herself to the perfection of the art as an instructor to children of all ages. April BurginDance Instructor
April was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Her dance career started at Joe Michaels Dance Studio; her instructors were Joe and Dana Michaels as she danced alongside Mia Michaels. She also studied at Miami Conservatory with Thomas Armour and Robert Pike. April has danced with Momentum Dance Company under the direction of Delma Iles. Full Story…
Tony Catanzaro
Tony CatanzaroDance Instructor
Tony Catanzaro brings an impressive array of accomplishments to the field of dance. His technical ability, combined with a magnetic and dramatic stage personality has brought him broad recognition, not only in ballet, but in modern dance and musical comedy as well. He began his dance training in his native New York at the High School of Performing Arts, where he graduated as the Dance Award Recipient. It was here that he was discovered by Norman Walker, his modern dance teacher. Mr. Catanzaro studied and performed with Mr. Walker for eight years, becoming the most impressive years of his career. Ingrid Aguiar
Ingrid AguiarDance Instructor
Ingrid is a native of Cuba and graduated from National School of the Arts in Havana. She has expertise in the fields of classical ballet, neo-classes and Afro-Cuban dance as well as modern. In 1997 she went to Venezuela where she continued her training as a dancer at the National School of Ballet under the direction of Rafael Portillo. Full Story…
Kelly Robotham
Kelly RobothamDance Instructor
Kelly Robotham was born in Bronx New York raised in Miami and trained at Dance Empire of Miami since the age of 5. Kelly is an alumni of New World School of the Arts and holds a Bachelors in Fine Arts from The Juilliard School. Ms. Robotham danced with Ailey II for one year and was promoted to the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater where she danced from 2010-2014 and performed classical ballets, modern, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary masterpieces. Ms. Robotham is currently the Dance Director for Miami Arts Charter Homestead and is excited to rejoin her Dance Empire family and give back her experience and knowledge to its students.
Melissa Marcus Vicente
Melissa Marcus VicenteDance Instructor
Melissa Marcus Vicente was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She trained at Joe Michael’s Dance Studio under Mia and Dana Michaels and was a member of the Miami Movement Dance Company. She continued to dance throughout high school, but ultimately decided to focus on training in sport baton twirling. She is a two-time World Baton Twirling Champion in the team event and former US Grand National Twirling Champion. She was also the featured baton twirler at Florida State University and the University of Miami.

She is the director and choreographer of Synergy Twirl Club, four-time National dance twirl team champions and the 2015 International Cup Team A Champions. She has been teaching dance and baton twirling from preschool age children to adults since 2005.

She completed her Masters and Doctoral degree in Exercise Physiology and Educational Research at the University of Miami and a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science and Sport Nutrition at Florida State University. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the physiological profile of modern dancers, sport baton twirlers, and competitive cheerleaders.

Natasha Williams
Natasha WilliamsDance Instructor
Natasha Williams graduated from New World School of the Arts High School, Dance Division in 2004. She completed her Bachelors in Business Management in 2008 and her MBA in 2012, both at Florida International University. Natasha has studied with renowned tappers including, her mentor Katherine Kramer, Dianne Walker, Derick Grant, Sarah Reich, and many more. Marion Syke-Brooke Logan

Born and raised in Miami Florida, trained at Dance Empire of Miami and studied at Florida State University as a dance major. She was also a member of the 2012-2013 FSU Golden Girl Dance Team. Brooke recently returned from an internship with the Alvin Ailey Dance Company through Brazil and Argentina. Full Story…

Nicole Perez is a graduate from Coral Reef Senior High School. She was a member of Cudettes for 4 Years. Having trained technically in Ballroom, she brought her expertise and flare to Dance Empire and will continue to teach as she pursues a dance degree at New World School of the Arts for College.
Janell Williams
Janell WilliamsDance Instructor
Janell graduated from the Magnet Dance Program at Coral Reef Senior High School. While at Coral Reef she was the Varsity Cudette Dance Team Co-Captain and helped bring home two National Championships. She also choreographed a winning number for the Coral Reef Dance Alliance. Janell was casted for the musical “The Wizard of Oz” and was also involved in the music video “High and Mighty” by Why Not Y. Janell was accepted into the Joffrey Program in both New York City and Los Angeles but has decided to stay in Miami for college while teaching at Dance Empire.
Alba Zarate
Alba ZarateDance Instructor
Alba Zarate trained at Dance Empire under Angel Fraser Logan and Tawanna Hall. She graduated from the Magnet Dance Program at Coral Reef High School in 2013 and moved to Utah to study dance at the University of Utah. Alba is a well loved member of our faculty who returns every summer to help prepare our dances and dancers for national competitions. Alba plans to return to teach and choreograph at Dance Empire upon graduation from college.
Aimee Henriquez
Aimee HenriquezDance Instructor
Aimee Henriquez has been dancing since the age of 3. She has advanced dance training in all styles of dance such as jazz, ballet, modern (Graham and Limon), ballroom and partnering, salsa and hip hop. She has also worked and taught young dancers for the past 10 years. Aimee has appeared in numerous television shows and commercials as well as music videos with artists such as Pitbull, Adassa and Ivy Queen to name a few. Aimee has appeared on stage for Disney’s Magical Gatherings, KC & the Sunshine Band and others. She danced for the Miami Heat as well as for the Miami Marlins Energy Team. Aimee is excited to jump on board at Dance Empire and says “there is nothing more rewarding than to give back to my own community and city while doing what I love most”.
Legna Rodriguez
Legna Rodriguez Dance Instructor
Legna Rodriguez was born and raised in Cuba, Legna began dance lessons in classical ballet, modern and contemporary at the age of 3. She graduated and has her degree in Dance Arts, specializing in Modern Dance and Contemporary Dance in the Superior Institute of the Arts, in Havana, Cuba.
Legna moved to the United States recently. Here in Miami she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Dance, also specializing in Contemporary Dance.
