Miami's Premier Dance Academy
About Us
In 1998, Artistic Director Angel Fraser-Logan had a vision to bring quality dance education in all genres of dance to the Miami region, including Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay, and adjacent areas in South Florida. It would be the first time that one dance studio would offer quality ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and modern dance training all under one roof. Angel gathered her team of the best dance teachers in the industry and they embarked on her mission to create a studio that was the empire of dance in Miami.
Within its first year, Dance Empire reached over 300 students and the team decided to move to a huge, state-of-the art building which would reach over 1,000 students within the first 3 years. Dance Empire became a place where contemporary dancers would come to train for television appearances, such as Star Search and So You Think You Can Dance. Angel’s choreography, with her students at the forefront, would come to introduce contemporary dance to the world. Her vision was making an impact nationally, and this vision continued to grow.
In 2002, Dance Empire took its students to the Jazz World Congress where they received the international bronze medal. Over the years, Dance Empire continued to take over the television scene, the concert stage scene, the Hollywood scene, and the prestigious Juilliard School scene. Angel was asked to choreograph the Cedar Lake Ensemble, helping to launch the famed New York City performance space in its formative years. Realizing that her heart and joy came from training dance students to reach the top of the industry, she happily continued her path of launching protégées into the world of professional dance.
Dance Empire continues to transform dancers into industry heavyweights from the ground up. Using a method of dance training she holds dear to her heart, while implementing her own unique twists, Angel manages to keep her dancers on the top of the dance scene today. In 2010, Dance Empire decided to downsize its huge studio into a more manageable stage where Angel could truly reach every student that walks in. She continues to teach weekly dance lessons and has found great pride and joy in having many of her faculty trained under her direction. Her motto is: “Where proper training meets artistic integrity, the result is timeless excellence in not only dance but life itself.”
